  • The Roman's motto was "In Balneis Salus" meaning baths are the source of health. It is no coincidence that Hungary has more than 400 balneotherapy centres.
  • 2/3's of the country are below an altitude of 200 metres.
  • The Danube flows through Hungary and seven other countries: Austrai, Germany, Slovakia, Romania, Serbia-Montenegro, Ukraine and Bulraria.
  • In Hungarian, the country is named Magyarorszag, meaning "the land of the Magyars". The Hungarians are the successsors of the Magyars who came from the steppes and in 895 invaded the Hungarian plain. 
  • Under the reign of Matias Corvin (1458-1490) the kingdom of Hungary will reach its peak, before the conquest of the Ottomans.
  • Budapest is the addition of two cities: Buda and Pest.
